All About Online Racing Games
If you like games with a lot of speed then racing online games are an easy choice for you. These games involve the player controlling any number of vehicles usually through a race of sorts, though there are many titles that may have you working through other challenges. In any case, if adrenaline is what you love, racing flash games should have you excited. The three main types are:

Simulations
One very popular type of online racing is a simulator game. As the name suggests, this is where a game is trying to simulate what it would be like to get behind the wheel of a car and race. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Other times, the game may put you in a different environment, like through the streets of an urban landscape or even on the water. For those who love professional racing, this will definitely be the kind of racing flash games they’ll find themselves playing. This is for the hardened fans who really want to get behind the wheel and see what the pros go through. You won’t find any weird power ups or special toys to play with there, just things that would make sense in real life. In fact, part of the attraction to these games is how real they are. A lot of times the fun is convincing yourself that if you could survive on these tracks, you could do the same in real life (you couldn’t, so don’t try).
Sub-Genres
Finally, there are all kinds of sub-genres when it comes to racing online games. Sports and arcade racing could be said to fall into this category. But there are also cartoonish games where you get to race a monster truck or play as your favorite character from TV. Other sub-genres may be things like motocross, jet skiing, boating, flying and other versions of racing a vehicle against others that don’t involve cars.
Perspective of racing games
Across all these different racing free games, there are two separate categories and they have to do with perspective. One will give you a true first person perspective—much like in a first person shooter—where it looks like you’re actually in the helmet and you can see your hands on the wheel. Sometimes this perspective may not involve the hands, but you’ll still be looking straight out the windshield. This version is best for games that want to supply realism. It also makes it more challenging, because you have a harder time seeing the world around you, meaning people may be close to doing damage to your car or just passing you. While there are usually mirrors for you to use, this still adds to the difficulty to the race.
The other perspective has you looking from a vantage point directly behind and a little above the vehicle.
